Crafted for place and space: local landscapes for a village gift boutique and its visitors

A trio of picturesque scenes designed to highlight a boutique’s location and evoke a calming, story-rich atmosphere, inviting customers to feel connected and inspired in their homes.

Capturing the heart of a Lake District village

Hesta Scene, a gorgeous gift and homewares shop in the Lake District, wanted a set of illustrations of their local area to sell as prints in their shop. Karen picked three beautiful scenes from the village - The Village Pond, The Cottages and The Howk - and we decided to keep a natural yet bright feel to the colour palette, echoing the sublime natural surrounding landscapes.

Using Karen’s photos and videos, I drew the landscape series. We collaborated closely to ensure each illustration felt individual, yet harmonised with the others as a set for those customers wanting all three. We chose easy-to-frame sizes so Karen could offer the prints framed or unframed, making it as simple as possible for visitors to take their wonderful memories of the village home with them.
